Kathy Thacker and I have published another children's book. "Joe Goes Fishing" is especially designed for early readers. It was inspired by the Sunnyview Elementary kinderstars, a group of kindergarten students at the elementary school I attended in Knoxville, Tenn. When I was home in April this year, the kinderstars read to me. The stories were simple with single characters and repetitive sentences. I loved hearing them practice reading. I loved the smiles on their faces when they successfully finished a book. I know that reading will open so many new doors for them. So, this book is dedicated to them - because learning to read is one of life's greatest accomplishments. Thank you, Sunnyview kinderstars! Keep up the good work!
